Mr. Markowitz’s practice includes Criminal Defense, Juvenile Law, and Personal Injury. He has extensive experience in jury and non-jury trials in both State and Federal courts. He joined the Firm in 1985, after serving as a Deputy District Attorney for over two years in Contra Costa County.
Mr. Markowitz was admitted to the California State Bar in 1982. He has been certified by the California Board of Legal Specialization as a Criminal Law Specialist. He also serves as Judge Pro Tempore in the Juvenile Division of the Contra Costa Superior Court, and has served as an arbitrator and mediator for the Contra Costa County Superior Court.
Mr. Markowitz is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of California. He served as the President of the Contra Costa County Bar Association in 2000 and the Alameda-Contra Costa Trial Lawyers Association in 1993.
He resides in Walnut Creek with his wife. They have two adult sons.
